Dawson served on the staff of the Women’s National Abortion Action Coalition, raising money for the organization in the lead up to the Roe v. Wade decision.

After moving to New York City, Kipp Dawson helped to organize the Women’s Strike For Equality and attended the 1st and 2nd Congresses to Unite Women, seminal events in the early Women’s Movement. She raised money for abortion rights leading to the Roe v. Wade decision and continued or organize marches, give speeches, and publish on women and socialism. She also ran for the U.S. Senate from New York as the Socialist Workers Party candidate.
